On October 1, 2013, the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 went into effect. It replaced the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 1964 (as well as related laws) and Part 1 of the Vehicles (Crime) Act 2001, which governed Motor Salvage Operators. 


Qualification Standards
